Pushing With Ease:
Sunday, 10/18 10AM
This is a workshop to empower you with the tools to push effectively in birth, with efficiency and ease. Pushing is often the part of birth that is most feared, when in reality, if you have the right tools and trust your body’s innate knowledge, pushing can actually be the most enjoyable part of birth. This workshop will give you both the practical tools and help you to hone your trust in your body. After this workshop you will understand the anatomy, have knowledge of the best positions to protect your pelvic floor, and understand the most effective ways to breath so that you are pushing at the right time and without exhaustion - just pure power!
Join us for the live workshop on October 18th at 10am and access to the private Pushing with Ease Facebook group. If you miss the live workshop, it will be recorded and available on the Facebook group which is also a space to ask questions and share experiences.
Registration closes on October 18th, and will not reopen for another round until Spring, 2021.

Please join us this Friday 6/26 at noon for our MaMaLove Village meet up with guest speaker Shannon Gill. Shannon is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and mama herself who supports families in the Denver/Boulder area with all things lactation and breastfeeding. Whether you are pregnant, in the early postpartum, or beyond, Shannon can answer your breastfeeding-related questions!
Our prenatal yoga teacher Jessica Fawcett has been working with Shannon the past 9 months and cannot say enough about how much her support has made a difference for their family.
All donations made to this event will go toward organizations benefiting BIPOC mothers and/or birthworkers.
Please read below to learn more about her and visit her website at: https://rootstowingslactation.com/
We hope to see you on Friday!
My passion for lactation and breastfeeding support was born out of my own personal breastfeeding struggles. I am a mom to two spirited little ones and currently reside in Denver, CO. I hold a BA in Forensic Science and have worn many professional hats in my lifetime: medicolegal death investigator, crime scene investigator, and photographer (to name a few). And, in addition to being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I’m also a volunteer La Leche League Leader. But no career has been more challenging and rewarding to me than motherhood. My unique background allows me to provide lactation support that is deeply compassionate, while also being firmly rooted in science and evidence. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, particularly Sichuan food, drinking all the coffee, skiing, and traveling.

Cesarean Birth Recovery Workshop with Pilates Instructor Katie Leigh!
This workshop is designed to provide education and self-care techniques that are vital to a healthy and full recovery after cesarean births. Most medical support, after a cesarean, leaves a gap in supporting a full recovery. There is little to no information given to women about how to care for their scars or how this major surgery can cause systemic effects throughout the entire musculoskeletal and myofascial system.
In this workshop we will cover how the scar affects the entire body, learn about the layers of tissue that are involved in making a full recovery, consider how anesthesia can leave a memory in the body that inhibits recovery, and dive into hands-on self-massage techniques to be utilized at home. This class will include gentle movement, guided self-massage and a non-judgmental and open space for all. This class is appropriate for anyone who has had a cesarean, or for anyone who wishes to learn more about how to support women who have had cesareans, such as movement teachers or doulas.
Katie Leigh has been teaching Pilates since 2012 and has been a licensed massage therapist since 2016. Katie is also a Doula. She specializes in bodywork and movement, striving to help balance the body from preconception through the postpartum time.
